This song has special meaning to me because one time I had to spend a weekend in San Antonio taking pictures at a mining conference, and then stay up all night preparing an old-school three-projector presentation timed to "That's What Friends Are For" So I got to hear the song about a 800 times, practicing the transitions "For good times (fat guys in suits on left faaaade to… "For bad times" …more fat white guys in suits in the center, fading to… "I'll be on your side" With fat drunk white men in suits on the right, then faaaade to full frame photo of a quarry tour… then two guys tentatively shaking hands and fake smiling to the camera…"That's what Friends are Foooor." and no one seemed to think that it was weird talking about love and hugs at a mining conference.
Thanks again for bringing this video to our attention. As for the love between members of mining conference, if there is one thing I learned about miners over the years, it is that they are a tight bunch.
